From a University
Lawn to a Movement
What began as a small gathering of Hazara students on the UNSW library lawn in 2017 has grown into Western Sydney's most trusted community organisation for young Hazara-Australians, providing education, leadership, and a place to belong.
Built by the Community, for the Community
SABA Hazara Group was founded in Auburn, Sydney, to serve the growing Hazara diaspora navigating life in Australia , balancing culture, identity, and opportunity.
Many Hazara-Australians arrived as refugees or asylum seekers, facing enormous challenges in settlement, language, employment, and belonging. SABA was born from the recognition that community-led support , from people who share the same culture, language, and lived experience , is uniquely powerful.
Since our founding, we have grown from a small volunteer group to a registered not-for-profit running dozens of programs annually, supporting thousands of community members, and earning recognition from NSW Government and multicultural agencies.

Our Core Values
Empowerment
We believe every young Hazara-Australian has the capacity to lead, achieve, and inspire.
Inclusion
We bridge gaps between newcomers and established community, across generations and cultures.
Community
We invest in genuine relationships and long-term wellbeing , not just short-term programs.
